COMMON SAFETY HAZARDS AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES IN THE WAREHOUSE

In the course of learning warehouse design, the teacher showed us the potential risks in the warehouse, if there is no proper planning and management of goods, it will be easy for goods to collapse, which will not only cause losses, but also cause orders not to be delivered on time, and the situation may cause casualties in serious cases.

“Efficiency” and “Cost” these words are almost integrated into the blood of warehouse management, when the logistics warehouse is busy dealing with KPI competition every day, exhausting efforts to please customers, it seems to be missing for the safety aspects of the consideration. Moreover, this situation will occur not only in the warehouse without management experience, but also in the large scale of the enterprise.

Therefore, it is necessary for us to analyze the hidden situation in the warehouse one by one and take preventive measures so that we can put our energy into production without any worries.

The main reasons for the common collapse of goods:
1、Higher stacking position of finished goods (high shelves).
2、Higher layers of raw material stacking.
3、Irrational data calculation and shelf design.
4、The distance between the upper part of the stack and the floor/flat roof is less than 0.3m.
5、Falling objects caused by forklift.

Preventive measures:
1、Focus on the planning of warehouse shelf land and suitable shelves.
2, to avoid collapse accidents caused by old shelves and damaged shelves, which requires timely replacement of old shelves and damaged shelves.
3、Installation of protective rails to avoid falling goods, goods storage height should not exceed 2.5 meters, as well as regular arrangements to check the stability of the shelves.
4、Strengthen the safety operation of drivers and improve the safety facilities of forklifts.
